Open Skies Finalises the First Cohort of Tanzania Fellows

In May 2021, Open Skies Fellows announced the selection of the first cohort of four youth focusing on diverse technology ranging from drones, virtual reality, flood modeling and automatic wheelchairs. Fellows were given mentorship and technology loans to support their project’s needs throughout the implementation.

Intentionally, the first cohort started with just a few fellows to learn and define a good approach. The plan now is to grow the network exponentially with more fellows. We have recently selected 12 more youth for the second cohort in Tanzania.

The fellows have shared their experiences and achievements so far through blogs. It has been an amazing experience for the Open Skies team walking down the road with these talented youth who want to be part of the larger ecosystem of innovation and technology space in Tanzania and Africa at large.
